The Egyptian Fayoumi Chicken is a rare Mediterranean chicken breed that is highly sought for its unique upright shape and posture, and its ability to handle exceedingly hot weather. Additionally, this breed originated in Egypt making them a prized rare breed not typically found in backyard flocks throughout America. The Egyptian Fayoumi Chicken was bred to be excellent foragers and free ranging chickens, typically laying excellent quality small white eggs.
