Ameraucana Easter Egger chickens are well known for their fantastic blue and green shelled eggs, a common family favorite, they are one the most popular backyard chicken breeds. Easter egger characteristics include beards, and slate or black legs depending on the type. Originating from the United States, easter egg chicken females have quality coloring, with dark reddish and hints of dark blue feathers. While looking exotic and laying blue colored eggs, they are friendly with people and other chicken breeds, making them a primary breed for backyard owners exhibiting a flock that includes variety and class. We highly recommend the easter egger breed, not only for their amazing blue/green colored eggs, but for their friendly personality and non-broody behavior.

Very cute and healthy chicks - One very happy customer

I ordered two chicks from each of the following breeds: Ameraucana, Jersey Black Giant and Silver-laced Polish. The chicks arrived by USPS on the exact date stated by California Hatchery. The chicks arrived in great shape and are very healthy. The chicks are growing fast and are all doing exceedingly well. The Ameraucana's are particularly cute! I am very happy with my purchase and once the chicks are old enough, they will be moved from my house to our local elementary school, where a solitary hen is waiting for some company in the school garden. We'd happily order again from California Hatchery!

I wanted some chicks by the end of the week, and I got them 5 days after placing my order! California Hatchery sent me a black jersey giant, welsummer, and rhode island red chicks. I couldn't be happier with their fast and friendly service!

I have never written a review before but I thought I would write one about our little hens. We purchased 2 Ameraucana's and 1 Ostralorp from California Hatchery. Our chickens hatched on July 28th and they arrived safe and sound the next day. They were in great shape; the most adventurous, "Amelia Airheart", was already hopping out of the box! It's been fun to watch them grow and develop their individual personalities. The Ameraucana's are smart and adventurous. The Ostralorp, "Lulu", is gentle and sweet. The three girls are harmonious and happy together. We would recommend California Hatchery.

Very good chickens

(Only purchased hens) They all started laying around 22 weeks, and each lay about 1/day and none of them mind being handled. They do eat a little more than other breeds I've had, but overall they're great chickens.

Great chicks!

The chicks arrived on time and in very good shape. They are growing rapidly, now three weeks old, and anxious to get out into their future home in the garden.
