Terms and Conditions
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THIS WEBSITE. All users and customers of californiahatchery.com agree that access to and use of this site are subject to the following terms and conditions. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, please do not use this website.
 
Cancellation Policy  by 
Canceled orders will be charged a non-refundable $15 cancellation fee. Refunds will not be issued for orders that have already been processed and shipped. The customer agrees to allow up to ten business days before a refund will be issued from the date of refund request. We will never refund more than the original payment amount. Under no circumstances will californiahatchery.com compensate anyone for any circumstance above the original order amount.

Coop Cancellation Policy- We will issue a full refund of the purchase price minus shipping and delivery charges and we will charge a 20% restocking fee for all cancelled coop orders. The customer agrees to allow up to ten business days before a refund will be issued from the date of refund request. Our cancellation fee will not be waived for any reason.

Coop Return Policy- Returns are accepted at the discretion of californiahatchery.com on coop orders up to 30 days from the date of purchase in like new condition. We will issue a full refund of the purchase price minus shipping and delivery charges and we will charge a 20% restocking fee for returning chicken coops.

Credit Cards  by 
We accept the following credit cards: Visa, MasterCard,  and Discover. There is no surcharge for using your credit card to make purchases. Please be sure to provide your exact billing address and telephone number (i.e. the address and phone number your credit card bank has on file for you). Incorrect information will cause a delay in processing your order. Your credit card will be billed immediately after you place your order.

Customer Responsibility  by 
By placing an order at californiahatchery.com, the customer agrees they are solely responsible for properly researching and following the appropriate federal, state, and local laws which apply to ownership of any animal(s) purchased through californiahatchery.com. Specifically, the customer agrees to indemnify and hold californiahatchery.com harmless from any responsibility or liability in relation to fulfilling customer responsibility to both research and adhere to the appropriate federal, state, and local laws which apply to customer ownership of any animal(s) purchased from californiahatchery.com. Please consult your federal, state, and local laws which apply to your ownership of any animal(s) that you may purchase from us prior to such purchase.

Damaged Item Policy  by 
The customer must send a picture of any items damged during shipment to service@californiahatchery.com within forty eight (48) hours of delivery. In the event that an item arrives in damaged condition, the decision to offer a replacement item is solely the decision of californiahatchery.com. The customer agrees that they may not receive a replacement item or refund for any items, and the decision to offer a refund or replacement item will be determined by californiahatchery.com

Hatching and Shipping Dates  by 
Californiahatchery.com allows customers to request specific hatching and shipping dates for their order at checkout. However, californiahatchery.com reserves the right to modify and change the hatching and shipping date for any order at any time for any reason. We will notify the customer via email when such changes are made. By placing and order at californiahatchery.com, the customer agrees that the hatching and shipping date of their order is subject to change based on availability, and the customer requested hatching and shipping date may be different than the actual hatching and shipping date for their order.

Hatching Egg Policy  by 
We guarantee all of our hatching eggs to arrive in excellent condition and true to breed variety. However, we cannot guarantee that your hatching eggs will hatch due to conditions beyond our control after your hatching eggs have been shipped. We do not offer refunds on hatching eggs under any circumstance.

Incubator Policy  by 

Incubator Shipping

We can ship incubators to the continental USA only. International orders for incubators are currently not available. When you place an order, we will estimate shipping and delivery dates for you based on the availability of your incubator. We will send you a confirmation email after your incubator is shipped.

Incubator Return Policy

You may return most new, unopened incubators within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.) We will not accept returns on any incubators that have been opened. If you wish to make a return on your incubator, please contact us to inquire about the return shipping address. We do not accept any returns to our PO Box.

Incubator Manufacturer Warranty

Most of our incubators come with a manufacturers warranty. Most manufacturers warranties cover your incubator for at least one year.

Indemnification  by 
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless californiahatchery.com, its officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors and suppliers (collectively the "Service Providers") from and against all losses, expenses, damages and costs, including reasonable attorneys' fees, resulting from any violation of these terms and conditions or any activity related to your account (including negligent or wrongful conduct) by you or any other person accessing the site using your Internet account.

Additionally, by placing an order at californiahatchery.com, the customer agrees that californiahatchery.com shall not be liable for any diseases, morbidity, or mortality resulting from physical contact with live poultry purchased from californiahatchery.com

Money Orders, Cashier’s Checks, Company Checks, & Personal Checks  by 
We accept U.S. Dollars only. Orders are processed upon receipt of payment. We cannot guarantee the availability of a product by the time funds clear or payment is received. We will charge a $15 re-stocking fee for all canceled orders.

Multiple Product Orders  by 
For a multiple product order, we will make every attempt to ship all products contained in the order at the same time. Products that are unavailable at the time of shipping will be shipped as they become available, unless you inform us otherwise. You will only be charged for products contained in a given shipment, plus any applicable shipping charges. You will only be charged for shipping at the rate quoted to you on your purchase receipt. The entirety of this shipping charge may be applied to the first product(s) shipped on a multiple shipment order.

Poultry Safe Arrival Guarantee  by 
We guarantee all of your chicks, ducklings, turkeys, goslings, and other poultry breeds to arrive healthy and alive. Please take a camera with you to the post office to pick up your chicks and take pictures of any chicks that do not survive shipment so that it can be validated by a postal worker. Poultry, ducklings, or any other breed of bird offered by californiahatchery.com that does not survive shipment will either be replaced or refunded at our discretion and availability. Please note, Priority Mail Express postage will not be refunded unless the delivery or attempted delivery is more than 3 days after the day of mailing. This policy comes directly from the United States Postal Service. Any breed of bird that does not survive shipment must be reported within 24 hours of delivery in order to qualify for replacement or reimbursement.

Safe Practices for Handling Poultry  by

Don't Forget! Always wash your hands. Even healthy and clean looking birds can be carriers of Salmonella bacteria. Salmonella bacteria are in the droppings of many chicks and ducklings and contaminate their environment and the entire surface of the bird.

Basic Safety Practices
If you choose to own chicks, ducklings, or other birds, following a few basic steps can help you avoid exposure to Salmonella.
1. It is absolutely essential to wash your hands with soap and warm water immediately after touching birds or anything in the birds' environment.
2. Chicks and ducklings are not appropriate pets for children under five years of age.
3. Do not allow the birds to be close to your mouth or face.
4. Live poultry should be kept outside.
5. Adults should clean cages/pens. Litter should be frequently changed.
6. Do not handle birds before or while cooking, eating or doing other kitchen tasks.
7. Do not use the kitchen sink to clean bird cages, feed or water containers.
8. If you are experience abdominal pain, fever, and/or diarrhea, visit your physician right away.

Salmonella can cause serious illness, especially in infants and young children because they are more likely to put their fingers in their mouth and because their immune systems are still developing. Older adults, pregnant women, people on chemotherapy, diabetics and people with weakened immune systems may also have more severe symptoms.
